Freebird vs. Skull Shaver: See How I’m Getting My Smoothest Shave Yet

Losing your hair years before you ever thought you would is a struggle I know well– my hair started thinning in my early 20’s! And if that wasn’t enough, figuring out how to shave my head to keep it looking presentable has proven to be a learning curve I didn’t expect either.
My first experience shaving my head began with a multi blade razor, but no matter how many mirrors I used and shaving creams I tried, I always cut up the back of my head and left patches unshaved. From there, I turned to electric shavers, but finding one that checks all my boxes and leaves my skin silky smooth hasn’t been easy.
In my quest to nail down the perfect head shaving routine, I’m putting two electric shavers to the test: Freebird (or Freedom Grooming, as they used to be known) and Skull Shaver.
Best Shave in Under 2 Minutes… Freebird
Both the Freebird and the Skull Shaver claim to give you a speedy, thorough head shave, but the Freebird really delivers the results without any stubble, cuts, or irritation. Shaving my whole head is usually a drawn-out affair, but in the time it takes for me to do other quick tasks like brush my teeth or wait for the shower to heat up, I can have a silky-smooth head. It’s really incredible!
Safest for Even Your Most Sensitive Skin… Freebird

Most Blade Variety… Skull Shaver
Skull Shaver’s blade variety is definitely a benefit: it has 3, 4, or 5 blade count choices. Freebird only has the signature 5-blade head, and although it works amazingly well for me, I can imagine some guys out there have their own blade count preferences in mind.
Best Shave in or Out of the Shower… Freebird
The Freebird is super versatile and truly waterproof, and I get just as good of a shave whether my skin is wet or dry. I prefer to shave fully in the shower and do quick maintenance shaves dry, so it’s really important for me to have a shaver that can perform the same function no matter what the conditions are.
